An experienced wine specialist will evaluate your collection in a timely manner and prepare an auction proposal listing current market estimates for each auctionable wine in your collection. We appreciate the fact that clients may need to move their wine expeditiously so if you have a time frame in which wine logistics must be arranged, please state this when you submit your list.
Determining Consignment Options And Contract Terms
Once the collection is evaluated, the wine specialist assigned to you will work with you throughout the process. Together, you will discuss the best consignment options for your collection that will bring you the highest return. Zachys works with a Seller’s Commission based on a sliding scale dependent on the value of the consignment. The higher the value of the consignment, the more favorable terms offered. Please note that Zachys strives to offer very competitive terms.
Shipping And Logistics
All wines to be auctioned by Zachys Wine Auctions must be sent to our warehouse for assessment and cataloging prior to sale. We have a team dedicated to coordinating wine logistics both nationally and internationally who strive to make this process seamless and easy. The property deadline for each sale is approximately two months prior to the sale date for a live auction and three weeks prior to the sale date for an internet auction. We have warehouses located in White Plains, New York and Hong Kong. In circumstances of very large collections, Zachys is well equipped to send an experienced team to your cellar directly for evaluation and assessment as well as pick-up.
A team of dedicated property specialists will assess and catalog each bottle going into an auction. Once your consignment is assessed, your wine specialist will e-mail you a confirmed inventory for your records, noting any discrepancies from what was originally expected if there are any to report.
World’s Best Wine Auction Promotion
A combined effort of top notch marketing prowess and exceptional catalog production puts Zachys Wine Auctions at the pinnacle of the market for wine auction promotion. About a month before the sale, auction catalogs are produced and then mailed approximately two to three weeks prior to the auction to thousands of potential buyers on our mailing list as well as to each consignor. In addition, spectacular advertising for each sale is conducted via dedicated e-mails as well as internet + print ads including full page New York Times advertising.
- After the auction, you will receive a notification that lists the final bid price for your property. If a buyer wasn't found, you have the option of re-offering the property at no additional cost or collecting your property.
- Zachys sends payment to sellers along with a settlement statement itemizing the commission and any other charges approximately sixty days after each live auction. For internet sales, payment is sent on the 25th of the month following the internet auction.
